Interesting read, tri. I’m not exactly sure what to make of it. The history related to the ongoing conflict is dense and I only have a rudimentary understanding of it. I’m also unfamiliar with a lot of the details of the Taba negotiations briefly mentioned by both Dershowitz and Chomsky. So, ultimately, I can’t really say who has a corner on the truth in this debate. Dershowitz comes across as an asshole whenever I’ve seen video of his speeches (on any subject), but I’d hate to let that stand in the way of judging his statements on their merits. Chomsky has an excellent track record so it’s easier to take his words at face value, but I just no too little about the totality of the information on this subject to make a judgment as to which one of these guys is right about the questions asked in this debate.
